Cristin Milioti has thoughts on Fandoms and the "Villains" in power – ryan
The Penguin Quickly became one of the most acclaimed DC Series (and Titles in General), Winning Colin Farrell an Emmy for the Titular Role and Earning Cristin Milioti An Emmy nomination for the role of sofia falcone, which she should have won. It’s not the only series that milioti has starred in which has a Rabid and vocal fan base (and let’s not even get into How I with your Mother). Black mirrorwhich just released its seventh season, has its own divided fandom, and so does Star pullthe franchise that Black mirror Parodies in the episode “USS Callister” and its New Season 7 Sequel, “USS Callister: Infinity,” in which Milioti Stars as Nanette Cole.
While it does not see the stunning milioti has been on the receiving end of many toxic fans, she is nonethouess aware of the pros and cons of fandom and shared her thoughts with Matt Mahler of Movief.
Sometimes these fandoms are so hell-bent on making sure no one has any differenties other than them.
“I think that most fandom comes from a golden place,” Explained milioti. “My own fandom comes from a golden place of, like, feeling misunderstanding sometimes, just by way of growing up in the world. And you know, getting to watch things that allowed me to escape that, and also feel things. It gave me space to either cry or later. Around me in a different context. But we (hopefully) all know that there is a dark side to fandoms, the kind of people who review bomb, or who dox or harass actors that they don’t because in “their” beloved franchise. Milioti addressed this next:
“But what really fascinates me and then Disappoints me about some fandom is that all of these things, whether it’s dc or star wars, or marvel, it’s all about people feeling like they’re outsiders, and feeling that is their differences that give them Power. Are so hell-bent on making sure no one has any differenties other than them.

“And yet there is this culture right now of cruelty … it’s brutal and horrible, and I don’t know how you approach that, especially when, in some people, it’s so clearly leg metastasized to beyond a point of no return. By actual villains.
