Hopefully it can inspire other cities to have a forum for children who have potential or talent, so that they will become children who will be in their fields and decide on parents,” To note, Rap is one of the services run by the Surabaya City Social Service in collaboration with various regional equipment organizations (OPD). There are currently four raps in the city of Surabaya. The first Raps were inaugurated in Nginden Semolo in September 2022 and developed in Sonokwijenan, Kedung Cowek, and finally in Dukuh Menanggal, which is currently visited by the DWP Ministry of Social Affairs. Through Rap, Surabaya city government offers a place for people with disabilities to teach and develop themselves. Rap offers a variety of facilities for people with disabilities in Surabaya, ranging from health consulting services such as psychological counseling for children and consultation with GPs and specialists. There are also different types of therapy such as speech therapy, occupation, physiotherapy, reflection and acupuncture. For self -development, Rap offers different skills classes such as music class, sewing, painting, batik, dance, crafts, modeling, photography and public talk. For people with disabilities who have sports interest, Rap also offers yoga classes and also sports balls. From the spiritual side, Rap also offers Mushala where children can take the Quran class. Not just the class of self -development, Rap also offers space and facilities for the practice of life and to turn the wheels of disabled family life. For example, children interested in painting are severely led so that the results of their beautiful and attractive paintings can be sold to millions of rupia. There are also screen pressure skills where children can make different products such as T-shirts and tote bags. Previously, the Ministry of Social Affairs also provided assistance in the form of tools and the imprint of raw materials to rap under the social affairs of Surabaya in 2024. The results of screen prints and other skills work such as Batik towel and crafts are also sold at the mini market in the Rap area. In order to increase the independence and productivity of the children, this time, with the DWP staff, Fatma presented social assistance assistance in the form of career aid. Meanwhile, the help provided by the center of prof. Dr. Soharso Surakarta has been granted, a vocational tool for screen printing, crafts, music, sewing, painting, batik and educational games. The help provided was worth a total of RP. 31,695,000. According to Fatma, the facilities and services in the rap looked like the centers of the Ministry of Social Affairs. In fact, he added that there were several services that were not yet in centers such as acupuncture services. “This rap is complete, there is counseling, different therapies and training are like miniature centers of the Ministry of Social Affairs. Even here, there is Akupuncutur, in the center there is none. The Ministry of Social Affairs can learn from Rap,” Fatma added. Meanwhile, the head of Surabaya Social Service, Mia Santi Dewi, appreciated the professional assistance granted by the Ministry of Social Affairs. According to him, one of the goals to be established by Rap is to educate children with disabilities to become independent, performers and also to be ready to face life. By providing vocational support to people with disabilities, they have the opportunity to be creative according to their interests. “Thank you for the attention the Ministry of Social Affairs has paid so that children can develop more, examine their talents and interests and make them confident to be in the midst of society,” Mia said. Rap’s success in education and providing debriefing to people with disabilities certainly cannot be separated from the support of the family and the surrounding environment. Fatma also admires the patience of parents who regularly take their children to rap to do therapy and consultation. The surrounding community can also accept persons with disabilities without negative stigma. Therefore, he was not surprised when children who studied in Rap grew into children who were confident and achievers, such as Reva and Rapres Band who repeatedly showed their musical expertise in various places. Accompanied by Fatma, Advisor 2 DWP, Intan Agus Jabo and Head of the Integrated Center, prof. Dr. Soharso Surakarta, Nova Dwiyanto Suli.
