World's largest library

The world’s largest library, Washington DC, is the largest library of the world, often called LOC. This library founded in 1800 is not just limited to books. It has more than 17 crore items. There are 41 lakh sound recording, 1.5 crore photos, 56 lakh cards, handwritten documents of 7.5 crore and over 4.1 crore -printed items. This library adds an average of 12,000 new items every day under the American Copyright Act. As a result, the collection is constantly increasing. It is a heritage, not just America, but for the whole world. Books are available here in more than 470 languages. The British Library, the National Library of China, the state library of Russia and the Biblhèque National in France, is at the forefront.
