Beer and wine stores will open in Multiplex Mall or Gautam Budh Nagar
As an important step in promoting liquor sales and making it more accessible to small entrepreneurs, the Uttar Pradesh government has launched a pilot project under its new excise policy. Excise department officials said it would make it possible to sell low alcohol drinks such as beer in the mall with multiplexes. For this, the Excise Division has begun to accept applications for the recently released FL-4D license, allowing retail sales of beer, wine and other drinks into a low alcohol category. Officials said the scheme is currently being implemented on a pilot base in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ghaziabad, Agra and Lucknow. At a low cost, retail license officials said the cost of license was Rs 6 Lakh, while in earlier terms only FL-4C licenses were available at Rs 25 lakh per year, enabling the sale of premium beverages in the mall. Subodh Kumar, District Aksin Officer of Gautam Budh Nagar, according to Hindustan Times report, said: “The government aims to make the retail sales of liquor democratic by starting the FL-4D license, which will enable more participants, especially small business owners, to enter the market, while premium will be the market. tightened.
