Jammu and Kashmir: 'Hadp' promotes horticulture in Poonch, doubling farmers' income
Poonch, June 3 (IANS). The Horticultural Division of Jammu and Kashmir has an important step towards the promotion of horticulture and doubling farmers’ income, and set up a high-tech nursery in the Poonch District Headquarters under the Composite Agricultural Development Program (HADP). This initiative shows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s approach to lifting the agricultural sector. The new function enables fruit plants to cultivate throughout the year, regardless of seasonal changes. Sanjeev Kumar, district garden building officer, spoke to the Ians news agency, “the department used to depend on seeds to grow plants, which usually took seven years to grow. With the start of the entertain technology in Poly Greenhouse, fruit plants will start producing within three years.” He talked about the target and said: “There are 29 projects under Hadp, which is inaugurated by Premier Modi. Our focus is on horticulture. We want people to cultivate their own plants, reduce dependence on external sources and become self -sufficient.” Sanjeev Kumar said: “We also intend to offer a similar high-tech poly-cultural nursery to farmers about subsidy, which will help them increase productivity and income. Poonch Pecon utility is especially favorable for the cultivation of nuts, which is especially adult crop in this area of trade union area.” “We also grow Apple. This poly -house will greatly support and expand our horticultural practices,” he said. It is noteworthy that HADP, run by the Department of Agricultural Production of Jammu and Kashmir, contains 29 major projects related to agriculture, including horticulture, crop production and livestock.
