From EVM to voters list ... Former CEC Gopalaswamy overturned about the allegations of Rahul Gandhi
New -Delhi, September 19 (IANS). Congressional Rahul Gandhi constantly asks questions about the Electoral Commission and the Voters List. They repeatedly claimed that the voters list was directed in disturbances and voting process and that this was all happening in the interests of the ruling party BJP. Former chief election commissioner NK Gopalaswamy has expressed his opinion in detail and made it clear that it is not appropriate to add the election process and voter list disorders directly. Gopalaswamy says this edition should be seen in two parts. The first is a disorder in the voter list and the second is the theft or theft in the voting process. These two are not directly related. Technical errors or discoloration of names while preparing the voters list is a normal process, while the election operation is a completely different stage. He also made it clear that political parties are made available per time from the voters list. At that time, the parties had the chance to register their objections and get the attention of the Electoral Commission for Disrusion. If reform is not claimed at the time, it is not appropriate to question the list after the election begins, as the list freezes as soon as the election is announced. Gopalaswamy said that if false votes such as rig, votes or other complaints during the election, they could be increased at that level. But once the election process begins, it is not appropriate to question the errors of the voters list. According to him, both political parties and the Electoral Commission have the responsibility to play their role within the set time limit. Gopalaswamy gave an example of the demand for intervention in the election commission during the congressional government, saying that in 2008 there was a thorough review before the Karnataka election. At the time when the Electoral Commission revised the voter list, major disorders were revealed. The names of about 52 lakh deceased and transfers voters were removed, 20 lakh new names were added and 10 lakh names improved. After this, objections were taken again and a total of 54 lakh names were removed and 27 lakh new names were added. That is, there was a change of about 5 percent in the total voter number. Gopalaswamy said that if such a major change in Karnataka is possible, the removal of 65 Lakh names in Bihar is not uncommon in Bihar recently. The total voter number Bihar is about 10 crore, in such a situation, given the migration and the dynamic form of population, this change is of course. He said that in countries such as Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, a large number of people go for service, allowing the number of names that remove and add in the list quickly. When he claimed that Rahul Gandhi was working in favor of the BJP, Gopalaswamy said it was a completely political rhetoric. He made it clear that the Electoral Commission has asked all political parties to appoint their officers at the level of views who must work closely with the officials of the Electoral Commission. The purpose of this is that transparency remains and if an officer of the commission makes a mess, the officer of political parties must monitor it immediately. Regarding the constant change in the voters list, Gopalaswamy said this problem will always be in a rapidly changing country, as urbanization, migration and dynamics of the population change each year. Therefore, it is meaningless to create a political dispute about this. He said that the accusation without evidence could harm the credibility of democracy and election process. -Ians Pim/DSC
