Lieutenant General Dinesh Singh Rana became Andaman and commander of the Nicobar command

New -delhi, June 1 (IANS). Lieutenant General Dinesh Singh Rana became the new commander-in-chief of Andaman and Nicobar Command. According to the Ministry of Defense, he took the lead on June 1 as the 18th commander of this command. Andaman and Nicobar Command at Shri Vijayapuram are the first and only three-service operational order of India. This command integrates the army, fleet, air force and coast guard. At the same time, this command strategically protects the national interests in the Indian Ocean region. He worked as the Director General of the Defense Intelligence Agency before taking over as Andaman and Nicobar Command. He is the first defense intelligence promoted to the post of commander -in -chief from the post, which reflects the increasing role of intelligence and joint operations under India’s military leadership. In connection with this appointment on Sunday night, the Ministry of Defense said that Lieutenant General Rana received a commission in the 10th Battalion of Garhwal rifles on December 19, 1987. Later, Lieutenant General Rana also ordered the Garhwal battalion. He is a graduate of the National Defense Academy, Khadakwasla and a postgraduate graduate of Defense Service Staff College in Wellington. In addition, he also studied at the Center for National Defense Studies in Madrid, Spain, New -Delhi and National Defense University in the US. He exceeded several professional military courses. He handled a variety of operational, training and staff appointments during his service over 37 years. His service includes an term of office with the Indian military training team and the Interim Ball Lebanon of the United Nations. He ordered an infantry brigade and division in the eastern sector and later led the Gajraj Cor on the line of control. Lieutenant General Rana also served as coach in the Higher Commando Wing of the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun, College of Defense Management of Hyderabad and Army War College, Mhow. His staff roles include an independent armored Brigade, Deputy Director of Staff Members, Brigadier of Military Intelligence (East), Provost Marshall and Director -General of Staffing Heads at Integrated Headquarters (Thal Army). Lieutenant -General Rana was awarded the Param Vishisht Seva medal, ATI Vishisht Seva medal, army medal, army medal and army for his special services.
