‘Towards Zero’ Stars on Facing Off Against Anjelica Huston – ryan
Academy Award-Winner Anjelica Huston Continues to steal the show in Whichever Project she’s Gracing. That includes the small screen, with the renowned American actress venturing over to the English territory for Agatha Christie’s Towards Zero as her latest on-screen venture. For those who have read the iconic author’s 1944 detective novel, Lady Tressilian is a key figures in the storyline-so it’s a no-brainer that the role in a modern-day TV adaptation would go to a Hollywood staple like Huston.
Portraying the Lady’s Assistant in the TV show is Anjana vasan (Black mirror). Tressilian also has a grown son who has just scandalously taken a new lover when the miniseries beginnings, a beautiful Young woman named kay (played by Sex Education star Mimi Keene). MOVIEBIEB recently caught up with vasan and keene in a paired interview leading up to the release of Towards zero on Britbox. Both performers reflected on their time working with co-star huston since-if you see in their excellent new series-their character each share at least one monumental and intense scene with the intimidating presence that is lady tressilian.
“I was really nervous about the scene where I have to have an argument with her, and we’re quite hot at each other,” Vasan Told Moviefeb. “I just felt like,” My God, I can not believe this scene where I’m, like, yelling at anjelica houston! This is crazy. What is my life? ” And also, ‘Who do I think I am?’ But she loved it. And she was so encouraging … she loved it, and we had such a nice time. “
“So Exciting and Nerve-Wracking”
For Keene, her real-life emotions in stepping up to the plate opposite huston seaemed to assist with her performance, as she revealed to us. “I was happy that it was a scene where kay’s meeting lady tressilian for the first time and she is a bit nervous. And she’s trying to, like, look right and stand right and speak right. So, I mean, that was a little bit how I felt … said. “I got to measure (anjelica) quickly in her green room before we went in … which is obviously just so exciting and nerve-worrying, intimidating. But she was just so friendly and so hot and so lovely that it very much calced me down.”

“I read the adaptation (script) first, and I didnnnnow the story at all. So it was a book I was not familiar with, and I did read the novel. I wasn’t discouraged or encouraged to read the novel. Sam (Yates), the director, talked about what might have changed Adjusted from the books. Process behind that, and it felt like a collaboration. “
The collaboration certainly paid off for a thrilling end result. Agatha Christie’s Towards Zero is now streaming on Britbox.
