New highway project to connect Patna-Ara-Sasaram in Bihar
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) in Bihar approved the project last week, which increased the connection in the region and will distribute 120.10 km in the state. The project to be developed at a total cost of Rs 3.712 crore will be built on the hybrid annuity mode (HAM). This corridor, which is a mixture of green field and brown field, will be an access-controlled project. In highway projects, a “Greenfield” project refers to the erection of a completely new road on the already undeveloped country, which is usually designed to escape from pressure areas by creating a new route. In contrast, a “Brownfield” project focuses on improving the existing road, such as expanding or strengthening it so that it can be brought to the current standards. Details of the plans of Patna-Ara-Sasaram Corridor Currently, the travel time between Sasaram, Ara and Patna is dependent on the highways (SH-2, SH-12, SH-81 and SH-102), which lasts about 3 to 4 hours, especially due to excessive traffic jams in Ara City. To reduce this burden, a new Greenfield gait will be created, along with the upgrading of 10.6 km from existing Brownfield Highway. This will help to remove traffic problems in densely populated areas such as Ara, Grahi, Piro, Bikramganj, Mokar and Sasaram. The proposed route will be integrated with large national highways NH-19, NH-319, NH-922, NH-131G and NH-1120, which secure smooth contact with large places such as Aurangabad, Kaimur and Patna. What will be the benefit of passengers from this project? In addition to reducing travel time, the project will improve access to two airports (Jai Prakash Narayan International Airport in Patna and upcoming Bihta Airport), four major railway stations (Sasaram, macaw, Danapur and Patna) and a domestic water terminal in Patna. This corridor will also provide direct contact with Patna Ring Road, which will promote the effective movement of both the goods and the passengers. This will significantly increase the connection between major cities such as Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi and Varanasi, which will promote local economic development and help with the smooth movement of goods and people. The project is in line with the effort to care for the center and will modernize the Bihar infrastructure, which promotes inclusive development in remote areas of Patna. The construction of highway will generate 48 lakh human day employment, so new ways will be opened for employment generation, economic activity and long -term wealth throughout the region.
