A policeman who is attacked in Madhya Pradesh every day, 5 dead in 18 months
In Madhya Pradesh, men and women who protect the law target themselves. In a shocking revelations in the meeting, Dr. Mohan Yadav, chief minister, acknowledges that 612 policemen were attacked within 550 days between 1 January 2024 and 30 June 2025. The scope of violence is serious: 461 Different incidents were recorded during this period, in which 612 officers were injured and five were killed. This announcement was made in response to a demand for Congress -MLA and former Home Secretary Bala Bachchan, who put the government under pressure on increasing attacks on law enforcement agencies. These figures are even more worrying as these statistics have emerged despite the implementation of the famous police commissioner system since December 9, 2021 in the two largest cities of the state, Indore and Bhopal. This system was launched with strong policing, quick crime response and promise of better preventative measures. Nevertheless, government statistics show that major crimes are constantly increasing. In Indore, between December 9, 2021 and 12 July 2025, the police have 3,061 thieves, 11,567 vehicle theft, 532 robbery, 308 murders, 5.045 cases of atrocities against women and 409 cases against scheduled cabinets/tribes (SC/ST). Bhopal’s condition wasn’t even better. During the same period, 2,378 thieves, 5.654 theft of vehicles, 191 robbery, 158 murders, 8,664 cases of atrocities against women and 356 cases of atrocities against scheduled role players/tribes in the city. These statistics provide a disappointing picture that police officers not only face continuous attacks on the roads, but also a wave of serious crimes, which shows no indication of Low.
