Prabha Atre: Important contribution to bringing Indian classical music to the global stage

Dr Prabha Atre had so much attachment to music that a large number of spectators who used the Indira Gandhi National Center for the National Arts listened to him. He once said, “The practice of notes will disappear like a line on the water.” Dr Prabha Atre was a famous singer from the grocery store Gharana. He was born in Pune on September 13, 1932. He completed his graduation in law at Ils Law College, Pune. However, he received a doctorate from the beginning because he was interested in music. During this he took training in dance with singing. To learn the nuances of music, he studies classical music at many music veterans, including Suresbabu Mane. Dr Prabha Atre once said that I heard him from my childhood. A specialty of the famous singer was that she did not forget to express gratitude to her gurus. He believed that whatever he is today contributes his gurus. To promote classical music, he established the Swarajayi Gurukul setting. He also worked in the air for a few years. In addition, she also worked as a professor at Sndt Women’s University in Mumbai. Later, she also became the head of the music department at the university. He also received several awards for his contribution to classical music. Atre was awarded in 2022 with Padma Shri (1990), Padma Bhushan (2002) and Padma Vibhushan. Apart from this, he also received several other national and international awards. He also has a world record to release 11 books from one phase in his name. With a melodic voice and control on stage, he spread such a magic of the voice of the notes that there would barely be a music lover that they could forget.
