Trace accidents reduced from 400 to 81 in 2024-25: As Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav
New -Delhi, April 2 (IANS). If the Lok Sabha gave information on Wednesday, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said there was a rapid improvement in the industry of Indian Railways. In addition, a decrease in the number of trace accidents was recorded, which dropped from 400 to 81 in FY 2024-25. Compared to the tenure of the railway ministers during the previous UPA government, Union Minister Vaishnav said: “There were about 700 accidents a year in Lalu Ji, there were about 400 accidents in Mamta Ji’s time, there were about 385 accidents during Kharge Ji’s time.” During demand in the lower house, Union Minister Vaishnav said that continuous efforts were being made to start new training methods with technical and processed changes to further reduce trace accidents in the country. As for railroad accidents, he said: “In FY 2024-25, which has just ended, this number has dropped from 400 to 81, there was a great improvement.” In response to a question about delaying the registration of a fir associated with crimes on railroad networks, Union Minister Vaishnav said that the government railway police and railroad protection power of each state were constantly discussing for coordination of action and that the government had set up a system of filing zero. The Union Minister also said that the Indian Railways suggested to offer different Indian cuisine in certain trains to improve the local passenger experience. This proposal was presented by the Railway Minister in the Lok Sabha during the question on Wednesday. In response to a question from DMK’s Sumati Thamizhchi Thangapandian about the lack of South Indian cuisine in India trains running in Tamil Nadu, the Railway Minister said a pilot scheme was being tested by South Railways. He said the purpose of this pilot scheme is to improve the ‘travel experience’ of the passengers, which includes local dishes, which reflects the culture of the region from where trains pass. -Ians skt/gkt share this story tags
