Anurag Kashyap upset about criticism of 'Phule' raised important questions
Mumbai, April 17 (IANS). Filmmaker and actor Anurag Kashyap expressed concern about the criticism of Anant Mahadevan’s biography ‘Phule’. With the lead role of Pratek Gandhi and Patralkha, the film strongly criticizes casteism. The producers were asked by the Central Film Certification Board (CBFC) to remove caste references in the film before being released on April 25. After the CBFC guidelines, the manufacturers had to remove many cabinets, including words such as ‘Mahar’, ‘Demand’, ‘Peshwai’ and ‘Manu’s Caste System’. Kashyap shared his problems with CBFC’s decision and wrote a note about his Insta story, “Punjab 95, Tis, Dhadak 2, Phule-I don’t know how many other films that emphasize the agenda of this casteist, regional, racist, the caste system has been the castor. Instagram written, is not a caste system in society.
