Ryan Coogler Gives Exciting ‘X-Files’ Reboot Update and Gillian Anderson Talks – ryan
Director Ryan Coogler is making history with his highly rated movies, and now he’s making his way to television to reboot a beloved science fiction series. While his recently released action horror, SensorsStarring Michael B. Jordan, is Gaining Praise All-Around, Coogler Revealed That His X-Files reboot will be his next project, and he has been speaking to Gillian Anderson about a possible return.
The X-Files
Take over television in the ’90s with its blended plots that combined genres like supernatural fiction, horror, mystery, science fiction and thriller. Those are right up coogler’s alley, who has directed and written various hit films, including Marvel’s Black Panther.
During an appearance on Last podcast on the lefthosted by Marcus Parks, Ed Larson, and Henry Zebrowksi, Coogler ghosts a little bit about the reboot. The 38-year-old said, “I’m working on X-Files. That’s what’s immediately next. So, I’m excited about that for a long time, and i’m fired up to get back to it, and that, you know, some of those episodes, if we do our jobs right.
Asked about the Chance of Original Franchise Star Gillian Anderson Putting in an appearance in the new version of the show, Coogler confirmed they had “connected”, saying:
“She’s Incredible and Fingers Crossed There. We’re going to try to make something really great, bro, and make something for the real ‘X-Files’ fans and maybe find some new ones.”

Created by Chris Carter, the Series stayed on air for nine seasons with 202 episodes. It follows Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Agents Fox William Mulder played by David Duchovny and Dana scully played by Gillian Anderson, Who Investigate X-Files. The special files were unsolved cases involving paranormal Phenomena. Carter was inspired by Rod Serling’s 1959 Legendary Anthology Series The Twilight Zone, Night Gallery, Kolchak: The Night Stalkerand more.
Ryan Coogler’s ‘Sinners’ Could Give ‘X-Files’ Fans A Taste of How He’ll Handle the Reboot
Sensors is currently sitting at 98% on rotten tomatoes and has everyone from lebron James to Spike Lee praising the plot and how the movie was filmed. It’s set in 1932, in the Mississippi Delta and Stars Michael B. Jordan in a Dual Role as Twin Brothers, Smoke and Stack. There’s supernatural evil haunting the brothers as they return to their hometown.
From the gore to the spooky plot, Sensors Could serve as a taste of what coogler could do for the the X-Files reboot. Not only could he ensure the series looks visually pleasing on camera, but he also knows how to tell a story without unnecessily dragging scenes. There’s no timeframe for the reboot yet, but it would not be surprising if it becomes another ryan coogler hit.
