My next goal is to win a medal for the country at Asian Games: Joshna Chinappa
Chennai, September 24 (IANS). Indian pumpkin player Joshna Chinappa was honored during a function held in the head office of Tamil Nadu. He was honored with Subha Venkatasan and Thanalakshmi Sekar for her achievements. Padmashree Joshna Chinappa spoke to Ians: “I feel very good. I have been part of TNEB since 2017 and have given me a lot of support to me and my career. I am very proud to represent the board for so many years, to be part of the Tamil Nadu government, which represents my country and my country.” He said: “My next goal is to make a place in the Indian team for the Asian Games and win many medals for the country. I slowly take my move for this. There are many more tournaments in front of the Asian Games I focus on.” Chinappa said: “The Tamil Nadu government has supported the players over the past few years. If athletes like me play at national, international level, there is great support from the Tamil Nadu government. The government supports the athlete financially. The government provides a platform to bring them forward.” Joshna Chinappa is India’s leading squash player. At the Commonwealth Games in 2014, China, along with Deepika Pallikal, won gold in doubles. It was India’s first gold at the Pumpkin during the Commonwealth Games. After this success, Chinappa did not look back. He won gold in doubles at the World Championships in Glasgow in 2022 and 2024. The Asian Championships 2017 and gold in singles in 2019 and gold in Mix doubles in 2024 Asian championships. Chinappa was the latest Indian Woman National Champion and is the record holder of the highest national championship with 18 titles.
