The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 approaches the halfway, and the week has been delivered some exciting moments. The protagonists of this segment are Karun Nair, Abhishek Sharma, Shreyas Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane and of course MS Dhoni. Theme of the week: Comebacks Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (MI), the three teams of the previous week, achieved victories in contrasting styles. SRH rushed 246 against Punjab Kings (PBKS) with 9 balls to save on April 12. Mumbai -indians overturned the unbeaten Delhi capitals, with an unlikely victory the next day. CSK defeated Lucknow Super Giants and ended their loss of five games. Record of the week: PBKS defends 111 Punjab Kings chased 262, the highest successful chase in IPL, against Kolkata Knight Riders, led by Shreyas Iyer last year. This time, Punjab Kings, led by Shreyas Iyer, managed to defend 111, the lowest successful score defended in IPL, against Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR collapsed from 62/2 to 95, thanks to Yuzvendra Chahal’s 4/28. Match of the week: DC vs MI The Metro Derby met his expectations. Mumbai -indians’ 205 looked insufficient when Delhi’s capitals rushed to 119/1 in 10.1 overs. Mi-turners, Karn Sharma and Mitchell Santner, caused a major collapse and a hat-trick in the penultimate split on the MI. Moment of the Week: Abhishek Sharma’s celebration Sunrisers Hyderabad scored an unlikely chase against Punjab Kings, with 246 with 9 balls to save in Hyderabad. Abhishek Sharma struck the highest score (141 out of 55) by an Indian in the Indian Premier League. Abhishek Sharma’s emotional message to the SRH believers made the opportunity even more special. Captain of the week: MS Dhoni MS Dhoni’s return as CSK captain did not start on a good note. CSK crashed into Chennai, their lowest score in a home game, up to 103/9 against KKR. KKR scored the chase in just 10.1 overs. However, the legendary captain led from the front, with his sharp captaincy, with his wicket watch and also with his batting. Dhoni rightly awarded the Match Award player against Lucknow Super Giants. He yielded 3 layoffs and also achieved a quick fire of 11 balls. Miss of the week: Ajinkya Rahane Ajinkya Rahane’s decision not to choose for the review was an expensive mistake. KKR sat next to each other on 62/2 and chased 112. Rahane missed the whip of Yuzvendra Chahal and was published LBW. The KKR captain chose not to use the review. Replays showed that the impact is outside the off-bump. KKR crashed from 62/2 to 95. Play of the Week: MS Dhoni’s throw MS Dhoni delivered one of the striking moments of the ongoing Indian Premier League season. He may not have a ‘magical magic wand’ to reverse the fate of CSK, but he does have the ‘magical gloves’. The goalkeeper produced an astonishing run -up to dismiss Abdul Samad from LSG. Dhoni even revealed the trade secret. Player of the Week: Karun Nair If someone is gracious enough to give me a second chance, I will not need a third. Karun Nair created his own version of Pete Rose, the legendary baseball player. The Karnataka batter grabs the chance with both hands and with its bat. Karun has played his first IPL match since 2022 and beat his first IPL fifty in 7 years and also transform it into his highest IPL score (89 out of 40). He took 26 runs from just 9 balls against Jasprit Bumrah, the best bowler of the world. Dear Delhi Capitals, give him more games. Stay up to date with all the actions from the IPL 2025.
