22 people injured because of the bakkie overturned in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu

Krishnagiri, May 15 (IANS). A tragic road accident occurred on Thursday at Tenganiyakottai Taluk in the Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu, who injured 22 people. The accident occurred near the Melagiri Hotel near Kuntukottai when a bakkie was slipped and overturned. According to police, the truck transported 22 people from Thandium Village near Kottayur in Anchati Taluk. The truck registration number is TN-52-AD-0870. The truck went to work to break flowers from the village near Kottayur of Anchati Taluk. According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened that afternoon when the truck was in high speed. The driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle. After slipping on the road, the truck overturned along the road and injured all the passengers in it. Once the accident was reported, the locals and passersby gathered on the scene and emerged to help the injured. The injured were admitted to Tenganicottai Government Hospital after first aid. According to hospital sources, the condition of all the injured is stable, but some people have sustained serious injuries that are being treated under the supervision of specialist doctors. The injured also include men, women and some children. Police began investigating the incident. Initially, it is considered the result of the negligence and high velocity of the driver. “We have taken possession of the truck and the driver is being questioned. The road condition and the vehicle will also be tested for technical investigation,” said an official of the Tenganicottai police station.
