BNPB estimates that there are another 91 students buried by the ruins of Ponpres in Sidoarjo
Jakarta – The combined SAR team continues to evacuate efforts to the victims of the Musala at the Al Khozyni Islamic boarding school, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java. BNPB estimates that there are still dozens of students buried in collapsed buildings. “Based on students’ attendance data, as many as 91 people were allegedly buried by building materials,” the head of the BNPB data, information and communications center, Abdul Muhari, said in a written statement Tuesday (30/9/2025). He said the data was earlier an update of 19.00 WIB. Joint staff consisting of Basarnas, East Java BPBD, Sidoarjo BPBD, Jombang BPBD, Mojokerto and Nganjuk, provincial SDA public works, Tagana Social Service and TNI-Polri officers were deployed alternately for evacuation.
