America ready to communicate on tariff with South Korea

Seoul, April 12 (IANS). Trade Minister Chayong In-Aayo said the US expressed its desire to have tariff discussions with South Korea and Japan as smoothly as possible. He described it as an important result of his trip to Washington. According to a report from the Yonhap News Agency, Chayong, while talking to reporters at Incheon International Airport during his two -day visit to Washington, said: “We have had several talks for the purpose of securing a smooth trade relationship with the Trump administration.” The Trump administration’s trip to Chayong was the first visit by the South Korean operating officer since the Trump administration announced a 25 percent fee for South Korea, which came into effect this week. During his stay in Washington, Chayong met the US Trade Representative (UNDR) Zamison Greer and other prominent officials to discuss the tariff issue. Chicong said: “The greatest achievement of the trip was to establish a framework for the object-for-time conversations, especially with regard to steel and car.” He said that Washington had a desire to compromise with Sol and Tokyo. He also emphasized the importance of identifying the ordinary US agency as the most important dialogue equivalent of Sol. “It was important to determine which US agency would be our dialogue partner,” he said. He said that Greece will lead mainly on behalf of Washington. Chayong said he fully expressed the position of South Korea on the issue of mutual fees. He talked about the negotiations, saying, “Greer actively listened to our attitude and shared the American approach and expectations for South Korea.” Earlier, US President Donald Trump banned the mutual fee for 90 days, saying that talks with countries asking for fees on fees matters would start “immediately”. At the same time, he warned China against retaliation and increased the fee against China by 125 percent. At the same time, in its retaliation, China announced a plan to increase the fees on all US goods from 84 percent to 125 percent from Saturday. -Ians Sch/CBT
