‘Ransom Canyon’ is Top of the Netflix Streaming Chart After Being Panned by Critics – ryan

Netflix

‘s foray into the world of Western epics may not have delivered a strong reaction from critics or audiences when it comes to its reviews, but Ransom canyon

is King of the Ranch with a number one debut on the platform in the US and a strong top 3 showing on the global chart.

Comparisons between Ransom canyon and Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone

Universe were always going to be made, with both shows delivering sweeping stories of family, betrayal, lust, and all the stetsons and horses you could wish for. However, no one seems to be able to decide whether the predictable, slow-burning newcomer to the Western Series scene is worthy of attention or not-even though the streaming charts suggest that many have at least decided to give it a good go.

Ransom canyon Has a pretty simple premise, but as creator April Blair explained, there is a definite theme behind the creation of the show, and it was to bring a “slice of texas” to screens in a slightly different way to other similar shows. Speaking to Tudum Ahead of the Series’ debut, Blair said:

“At its core, ransom canyon is not just a town. It’s an idea. It’s the painful longing for your first love. It’s the burning desire to protect your family. It’s cowboys and lovers, Grifters and Thieves. Lust, Deceit, Heartache, Home… ransom has it all. I Think People To fall in love with this little slice of texas and the dramas and romances that we created there. ”

Can ‘ransom canyon’ fill a ‘yellowstone’-sized hole?

Ransom canyonand any new Western Series based on a Dusty Ranch, is always going to come up against the question of, “How does it compare to Yellowstone? ” When it comes to Ransom canyonit actually compares pretty well if looking at the original of Taylor Sheridan’s Sprawling Universe before it became the paramount+-dominating force it is now.

Ransom canyons Reviews have been very divisive, with critics giving it 54% and audiences 65% on rotten tomatoes. Comments have ranged from the storylines being called “boring” and “predictable,” to the show being “streaming fodder” as a throwaway piece of nothing much. While Yellowstone Holds an 83% tomatometer score overall, its first season only landed a 58% rating with criticisms of the story “Dragging a bit,” there being no “Likable or Commering Characters,” and the show being a “grating” experience.

PERHAPS NETFLIX’S SHOW COULD BE THE NEXT Yellowstone after all. In the main, any series needs to live and the on its own merits, and based on its position at the top of the Netflix Chart, it is doing enough to get people’s attention. Whatever the final viewer numbers are, it is likely that netflix will push ahead with at least another season of the show if they have any sense, and if they can “pull a Yellowstone”To make a second season better than the first, who knows how long it could run.
