322 children were killed in Gaza within ten days
Around the clock – The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) announced on Monday the death of at least 322 children in ten days in the Gaza Strip since the Israeli occupation resumed the bombing after a two -month truce with Hamas.
“The collapse of the ceasefire, the resumption of violent bombing and land operations in the Gaza Strip caused the death of at least 322 children and the injury of 609 others, that is, at a rate of more than a hundred children killing or distorting daily during the past ten days,” UNICEF said in a statement.
“Most of these children were displaced, they resorted to temporary tents or affected housing.”
The organization pointed out that these numbers include children who were martyred or wounded in the raid on the emergency department of Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.
“The ceasefire was providing a safety network that the children of Gaza needed a desperate need,” UNICEF President Catherine Russell said in the statement.
Israel resumed the intense bombing of Gaza on March 18 and then launched a new land attack, ending the ceasefire, which lasted for nearly two months in the war with Hamas, after negotiations on it reached its following stages to a dead end.
Since the resumption of the fighting, the Hamas -running Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced the rise of at least 1001 martyrs in Israeli attacks.
The war erupted against the backdrop of Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, killing 1218 people.
The Israeli military campaign resulted in the death of at least 50357 people in Gaza, most of them civilians, according to the Ministry of Health in the Strip.
UNICEF reported that 15,000 martyrs are of the origin of this toll.
