1 million posts and every broadband of home, a look at great promises in the concept of new telecommunications policy

The Government of India has released the draft National Telecommunications policy 2025 (NTP-25). In this concept, the government aims to lead the country’s telecommunications structure in global telecommunications technology by 2030. In this policy, targets such as Universal 4G coverage, 5g coverage are set to 90 percent. NTP-25 aims to provide 90 percent of the population 5G network, to provide fixed broadband to 10 Crore homes and create 10 lakh new employment in the region. This policy talks about development that keeps in mind the expansion of infrastructure, intensive localization, skills promotion and environment. In this policy, India must be included in the top 10 countries in terms of innovation of techniques such as 6G, AI, IoT and quantum telecommunications. There is also a discussion on making India in the telecommunications sector. For this, the goal is to promote local manufacturing to 150 percent. This draft policy says: ‘The National Telecom Policy 2025 (NTP-25) reflects a transformative approach to the digital future of India. It repeats the strategic commitment of the country with regard to telecommunications as a fundamental pillar of economic development, social empowerment and technology innovation. This concept describes changes and challenges in the telecommunications sector. It discusses the next generation technology 5G, 6G, AI, IOT, quantum communication, satellite network and blockchain. 10 Lakh Public Wi-Fi Hotspots is introduced. The preamble mentions that this policy, as these innovations give a new look to the global price chain, enable India to use them to reduce digital differences, promote inclusive growth and strengthen their role as a global digital leader. According to this policy, the government aims to start 10 Lakh public Wi-Fai. A new Digital India Fund scheme has been proposed that will be used to extend the network to remote and backward areas.
