The government bent before public power! Khachariwas said: 'U -turn in the midst of increasing protest and power crisis on smart meters'

The mandatory installation of smart meters in Rajasthan has been removed. Former Minister Pratap Singh Khachariwas described it as a public victory in Jaipur on Friday. He said that the smart meter is a big scam and that the public’s pocket is about to cut. People opposed it in different parts of the state. The government tried to install smart meters with the help of police and the private company’s employees. But this work could not be done because of public opposition. Khachariwas advised the government not to make such arbitrary decisions in the future. He warned that if the government was trying to install a smart meter secretly, it would also be opposed. Let us tell you that the Rajasthan government is currently removing the need for installing smart meters in new electricity connections. In addition, old meters can now be replaced by bad and burnt meter. Electricity distribution companies (Discom) have issued orders to change the guidelines for installing smart meters. Now different rules will apply to change new connections and bad or burnt meters. According to the new guidelines released on August 20, smart meters will be installed on new connections in areas where the installation of smart meters or complete.
