12 -Year -old boy arrested in Chaibasa, Jharkhand, was arrested

Chaibasa, May 23 (IANS). 12 -year -old Arjun Ban Singh was brutally murdered by strangling a knife in the town of Jugidaru under the Mufassil police station in the West Singhbhum district Jharkhand. The murder charge was on his neighbor Chandramohan Ban Singh, who was arrested by police on Friday. Arjun’s body was found in a blood -soaked condition near his home late Thursday night. The deceased’s father Sinkur Ban Singh and his wife went to the market at the time. When he returned home, his nine -year -old daughter Anita told him that Chandramohan Ban Singh had brought a knife and strangled Arjun. Arjuna died on the spot. Anita somehow escaped and saved her life. After receiving the information about the incident, a RAID team was established to arrest the murder accused according to the instructions of Superintendent of Police Ashkhar. The police registered a case under case 83/2025, section 103 (1) BNS 2023 at the Chaibasa Mufassil police station on a written complaint of the deceased’s father. Police acted on Friday morning and arrested accused Chandramohan Ban Singh. During interrogation, the accused acknowledged his crime. The iron knife used in the murder was also recovered. According to police, there was a dispute associated with land and witchcraft behind the incident. A few years ago there was a dispute with the accused over the country. The wife of the accused has accused the mother of the deceased over the past few days of being a ‘witch’. The team, which arrested the accused, included the Mufassil police station in Chandrashekhar, sub -inspector Mithun Kumar, assistant under inspector Yadunandan Mahato, Dasharatha Tudu and armed forces staff. Police sent the accused in prison in prison. A detailed investigation into the case is underway.
