43 Fir's registered in case of illegal mining in Rajasthan, 26 arrested
Jaipur, April 10 (IANS). The government performed between 2 and 8 April 314 actions and implemented the zero tolerance policy against illegal mining in Rajasthan. Among them, illegal mining, transport and storage of minerals have been targeted. During this period, 152 vehicles and machinery were seized and more than 24,461 tonnes were seized illegally mounted mineral. An official said that 43 FIRs have been registered under this campaign so far and that 26 people have been arrested. This reflects the strict attitude of the state government against illegal mining. General Secretary of the Mining Division T. Ravikant said that this strict enforcement action is being conducted under strict policy against the illegal mining of the state government. At the headquarters level, additional director Vigilance Pr Ameta was appointed as the nodal officer to run the campaign in a systematic way across the state. During this period, 7.513 tonnes of minerals and a fine of Rs 92.16 Lakh were seized on nine actions led by mining engineer Jagdish Mehrawat in Beawar. At the same time, the team of additional director Mahesh Mathur seized 1,729.99 tons of minerals in 66 operations, 10 Fir’s registered and eight people arrested. A total of 18 vehicles were seized. At the same time, a team of Bhilwara, Bijoulia, Chittor and Nimbera seized 938 tonnes of minerals in 39 actions, a fine of Rs 30.53 Lakh was imposed and Rs 34,35 Lakh was seized. Under the guidance of senior officer Avinash Kuldeep, 30 actions were seized in Kota 7.343 tons of mineral, a fine of more than Rs 1.7 crore was imposed and a amount of more than Rs 21 lakh was seized. In addition, 519 tonnes of minerals in 24 actions in Jaipur led by NS Shakti were seized. A fine of Rs 15.43 Lakh was imposed and Rs 13.50 Lakh was restored. A fine of Rs 5.75 Lakh has been charged in seven additional actions led by Vigilant Pratap Mena. In Ajmer, 25 operations led by SME Gurubakshni were seized on 8.160 tonnes of minerals. The official said teams were also active in Bikaner, Bharatpur and Rajsamand. The joint team of Jaipur and Alwar also played an important role in combating illegal mining.
