From downtown to the city center, work can be seen from 2022 Tony nominees in New York. Some of the shows approach the final performances, such as Enoughwhile others should be placed on your calendars, such as Corsicanabefore the start of previews soon.
Whether you have missed to see the nominee work of the artists or want to watch more of the nominees, these off-Broadway shows offer another chance to see work by some of the honored designers, directors and actors:
A matter for the existence of God In Signature Theater (April 12-5 June)
Samuel D. Hunter’s World Premiere Game investigates alienation and camaraderie by following two men in southern Idaho who unexpectedly choose to open their worlds to each other. Nominee Arnulfo Maldonado (A strange loop) Designed the sets for the run.

Corsicana at Playwrights Horizons (June 2, July 10)
Take place in a small city in Texas, Will arberyThe play follows the siblings Ginny, a woman with Down syndrome, and Christopher, her half-brother, in the wake of their mother’s death, while family friend Justice brings them to the local community with Lot, an artist and outsider. Check out Deirdre O’Connell here (Days H.) As justice, nominated for the best performance by an actress in a leading role in a play, and sound design by nominee Justin Ellington (for colored girls who considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf ).
Dream made at New York Theater Workshop (June 17th)
Somi Kakoma‘s musical delves into the work of the South African music artist and civil rights activist Miriam makebathe ways in which she made contact with people at the moment, and the ancestors who called her. The production reunites director Lileana blain-cruz and lighting designer Yi zhaoboth nominated for their work on The skin of our teeth. They are joined by fellow nominated, sound designer Justin Ellington (for colored girls who considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf).
Epiphany In Lincoln Center Theater (July 26)
Run in the off-broadway Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater, Brian Watkins‘ Epiphany Follow a group of old friends who come together to revive a forgotten tradition, just to find themselves after answers when the guest of honor is extraordinarily late. Costume designer Montana Levi Blanco (The skin of our teeth) Serve in the creative team.
Fat ham with the public (May 12, June 19)
James Ijames‘2022 Pulitzer-awarded game rediscovered Shakespeare’s Hamand put the action in a southern cuisine as juicy, a queer college child, with identity questions and a supernatural demand for revenge. Look here at sound design of the nominee Mically sulaiman (Macbeth).

Little Shop or horrors In Westside Theater (Open Run)
The off-broadway revival of the Sci-Fi Rock Music Bill about Flower Assistant Seymour Krelborn and new, foul, R&B-Sing Plantras “Audrey II” contains lighting design by nominated Bradley King (Fly over sunset).
soft In MCC Theater (June 12)
Donja R. Love’s new play follows Mr. Isaiah, a teacher for the residence, while dealing with one of his student’s suicide. The production contains a scenic design by nominee Adam Rigg (The skin of our teeth).
Enough with the public (March 13th 29th)
Look at the final performances of Shaina pumpkins‘S musical over the suffragettes that fought, failed and in the early 20th century America passed to achieve women’s voting right for a chance to see work from nominated costume designer Toni-Leslie James (Paradise Square) and lighting designer Natasha Katz (Mj).

… what the end will be against Laura Pels Theater in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theater (12 May-10 July)
To three generations of men living under the same roof, The Mansa raThe play examines the relationships between fathers and boys, as the men with each mean to each of them to be black and gay. The rotound production contains work from nominated costume designer Emilio Sosa (Problem in mind), lighting designer Jiyoun Chang (for colored girls who considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf), and sound designer Palmer Hefferan (The skin of our teeth).
Which way to the stage In MCC Theater (April 14-5 June)
Ana nogueira‘s World Premiary Remarker goes back to 2015 to follow two Broadway fans who are outside the If/then Increase, not to know that it would eventually change their friendship. The creative team contains nominated scenic designer Adam Rigg (The skin of our teeth) and lighting designer Yen scratch (A strange loop).
