112 MAN 1 Banyuwangi students experience diarrhea-Nausea, suspected of MBG poisoning

Jakarta – Head of the Banyuwangi Health Service, Amir Hidayat, said that there were 112 students from Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 1 Banyuwangi who were suspected to have been poisoned by the free nutritious meal menu (MBG). The students have been experiencing symptoms of poisoning since last night, such as diarrhoea, fever, nausea and heartburn. “From last night we received reports and then followed this afternoon, the complaints were symptoms of diarrhea, fever, nausea and heartburn,” said Amir when met at MAN 1 Banyuwangi, reported by detikJatim, Thursday (23/10/2025). Amir said that the students were currently receiving treatment from the medical team. According to him, almost all students have recovered and only 4 students remain who are still in the UKS and are still being monitored by community health center officers. Scroll to continue content “There are only 4 students who are still being treated in the UKS room and are still being monitored by Puskesmas officials. Hopefully they will not be referred and can recover quickly,” he said. To test the cause of the poisoning experienced by hundreds of students, the team from Labkesda supervised food samples provided by the MBG kitchen that were eaten by the students on Wednesday (22/10). The Labkesda team also performed rectal swap tests or swab tests on equipment provided by SPPG at the MBG site at MAN 1 Banyuwangi. “The samples have been sent to the laboratory for examination,” said Amir.
