An elementary school principal is facing a police investigation because he allegedly cut the ‘Sikha’ (a little hair on the head with religious importance) of a student and wiped the tilac of his forehead. A police officer said the alleged incident happened in the Kazikheda town on Friday and the student’s parents filed a complaint the next day. “We are investigating the matter. Appropriate steps will be taken based on the findings of sin,” Sushri Rishika Singh said. After the incident came to light, several people conducted a protest march and submitted a memorandum to the local authorities demanding strict action on the matter.
