Premier Modi Punjab Himachal Yatra: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the state to review the damage and flood situation in the areas affected by cloud neighborhood, heavy rain and landslides in Himachal Pradesh. During this, he made many important announcements for the people involved, along with the speed of relief and rehabilitation. The prime minister first made an air uptake over the flood -driven areas of Himachal Pradesh. He then reviewed the progress of relief and rehabilitation works during an official meeting in Kangra and assessed the loss in the state. Himachal Pradesh, chief minister, Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, and senior officials were present in this meeting. The second installment of SDRF and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi is released in advance. Approval under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, renovation of national highways, the provision of relief under the Premier’s National Aid Fund and Mini Set for Livestock is also issued. According to the PMO, taking into account the needs of the agricultural community, special assistance will be provided to the farmers who do not currently have electricity connections. This step will help farmers to restore their livelihood, which has been badly affected by floods and landslides. Jio tagging of damaged homes will be done under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The prime minister announced a financial aid of Rs 1600 crore for Punjab, which is already in the state treasury in addition to Rs 12,000 crore. The prime minister also announced an ex -gratia amount of Rs 2 Lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured. The Prime Minister announced extensive help among the Prime Minister for Children’s Scheme for Orphans because of the recent floods and landslides. 1500 Crore -Aid to Himachal Premier Modi announced financial aid of Rs 1.500 crore for Himachal Pradesh. The PMO was also notified that Premier Modi also announced a grace of Rs 2 Lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the seriously injured in the flood and the natural disaster. The prime minister also said that all types of assistance are provided under the disaster management rules, including the payment of the advance amount to the states. He appreciated the efforts of staff of NDRF, SDRF, Army, State Administration and other service-oriented organizations in immediate relief and rescue operations. The situation in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab lost 370 people in the ongoing monsoon season in Himachal Pradesh, of which 205 deaths occurred due to rain -related incidents such as landslides, sudden floods, cloud burst, drowning, lightning, current and other causes. A total of 434 people were injured and 41 people are missing. According to Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (HPSDMA), a total of 744 roads were blocked at 18:00 on Monday night, including three national highways: NH-03, NH-70 and NH-305. Kullu district is most affected, where 223 roads are blocked, including two national highways. In addition, 959 distribution transformation sector (DTR) and 472 water supply schemes were disrupted. Disastrous flooding in Punjab has increased human and economic losses. According to the Department of Information and Public Relations of Punjab, the number of deaths has increased to 51. All districts have been declared a disaster sector and rescue operations are underway. The flooding due to the boom of rivers such as sutlej and continuous monsoon rain was described by the authorities as the most terrible flooding in the state in the decades, which also crossed the 1988 flood scale. State governments are demanding an auxiliary package. Governments from both Himachal Pradesh and Punjab have requested PM Modi to provide a special relief package for floods affected. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, hoped that Premier Modi would release special relief package for disastrous state. Barinder Kumar Goyal, Minister of Water Sources in Punjab, said on Monday that he hopes the prime minister will announce a remuneration of at least Rs 25,000 crore, except that the fees of Rs 60,000 crore have approved without delay. Meanwhile, on Monday, the Punjab cabinet decided to give compensation of Rs 20,000 per acre for crop damage due to flooding in the state.
