2 Maoists killed in a meeting amid an anti -Maoist campaign in Chhattisgarh
Two Maoists died on Friday in a meeting with security forces in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. A day before, it was also thought that a senior Maoist leader was involved in the nine left -wing rebels who died in a meeting in the Central Indian state. People who are aware of the matter said that the latest meeting during a search launched by security forces after receiving information on the presence of Maoists in Bijapur. The bodies of two Maoists, a .303 rifle, other weapons, explosives and daily use items were found from the scene. The meeting was still ongoing, while the security forces refused to reveal the meeting area and the number of powers involved, referring to the operational reasons. On Thursday, security forces killed ten Maoists in Gariaband in Chhattisgarh. A senior Maoist leader, Modem Bala Krishna, was also suspected of being involved. Krishna, also known as Bala, Ramchander and Bhaskar, was the secretary of the Odisha State Committee and a member of the Maoist Central Committee. He joined the Maoist movement in 1983.
