2 Police victims of the KKB Aibon Kogoya shooting being treated at Nabire Regional Hospital

Jakarta – Four police officers became victims of shooting incidents by an armed criminal group (KKB) in Nabire, Central Papua. Inspector General of the Central Papua Regional Police, Commissioner Gatot Suprasetya, said that two of the police are still being treated at the Nabire Regional Hospital. The two members of the national police underwent an operation at the Nabire Regional Hospital, namely the head of the Nabire Police Traffic Unit, Inspector Hardiman Sirait (45) and Bripka Laode Munafrin Isra (30). Their condition is currently stable. “The condition of the two members of the Nabire Police is stable,” Inspector General of the Central Papua Regional Police, Commissioner Gatot Suprasetya, said as reported by Antara, Saturday (18/10/2025). SCROLL TO CONTINUE CONTENT Kombes Gatot said two other members of the National Police who were injured and receiving treatment are Thomas H Bisararisi (26) and Galuh Yudistiawan (28). The shooting took place on Friday (17/10) around 14.40 WIT after a group of Central Papua regional police chiefs visited the scene where a vehicle was shot by Topo and a civilian was killed. The perpetrator of the shooting is believed to be KKB led by Aibon Kogoya. The KKB led by Aibon Kogoya opened fire on a car traveling through Kali Semen area, Wadio Atas, West Nabire District. In addition to the deceased, 4 more people were injured. “As a result, a passenger in the Hilux type car, namely Masturiyadi (50 years), died due to a gunshot wound to the back of the right head,” said Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani of Kaops Cartenz’s peacekeeping force as reported by Antara. The injured were Yance Makai (38), Aser Kegou (45), Martinus Makai (42) and Ari. Currently undergoing treatment at Nabire Regional Hospital. (lir/rfs)
