Maharashtra government signed a sleeve to set up a helicopter manufacturing unit in Nagpur

Mumbai, June 14 (IANS). The government of Maharashtra and Max Aerospace and Aviation Private Limited signed a memorandum (sleeve) on Friday to draw up a helicopter construction factory with an investment of about 8,000 crore in Nagpur in the presence of main minister Devendra Fadnavis. Nagpur is the second capital of the state. Fadnavis said it would increase the defense manufacturing sector in Nagpur. According to the sleeve, Max Aerospace will set up a factory for helicopter manufacturers in Nagpur, and its actual work will begin from 2026. The government said in a statement that approximately 2,000 direct and indirect jobs will be produced in the project, in which approximately 8,000 crore calls will be invested within eight years. The government said in the statement: ‘Mou will be a milestone in India’s’ Make in India’, ‘self -reliant India’ campaigns. This partnership will be an important step towards industrial development of Maharashtra and will contribute to the submission of India to the defense sector. This will be the first project dedicated to the adjustment and production of helicopter and it will help. Act as a center of excellence for optimization, integration and flight testing of rotating wing platforms. It will also contribute to India’s growing aviation supply chain. CM Fadnavis expressed happiness that Max Aerospace has chosen Maharashtra, especially Nagpur for helicopter production. He said, “Good facilities were made in Nagpur for the manufacturing sector for defense. Max Aerospace will provide all the necessary help for its manufacturing plant. The company must start its production work in time.” Bharat Malkani, chairman of Max Aerospace, said Nagpur is an ideal ecosystem for the defense manufacturing sector, and that the state government has provided all necessary manufacturing facilities.
