Sultan aims for DMDI to visit 23 countries that have Malay cultural roots. “Our target is actually the whole world that has Malay roots, how many are there? We will visit 23 countries to revive Malay history. Well, Malay history is extraordinary, I study it every day,” he said. Meanwhile, Yusril admitted that he was happy to attend the event. Yusril said that Malay has a very broad concept. “The concept of Malay is actually very broad, not an ethnic concept because Malay is defined in the Malaysian constitution or institutionalization as someone who speaks Malay, practices Malaysian Islamic customs and is Muslim,” he said. “So it is not an ethnic concept but more a cultural concept and a religious concept and I think if we use that concept, there will be many Malays in this world,” he added.
