24 killed as explosion rock Pakistani Taliban’s composition in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province

At least 24 people, including militants and civilians, died in an explosion that took place on Monday in a connection in the Tirah Valley of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province in Pakistan. According to police, bumming material allegedly stored in a connection by Pakistani Taliban fighters exploded in the country’s tranquil northwest on Monday. Several homes in the area were destroyed in the explosion. Local police officer Zafar Khan was cited by the Associated Press, saying that at least ten civilians, including women and children, were killed along with at least 14 militants. Khan claims that two local Pakistani Taliban commanders, Aman Gul and Masood Khan, established shelters in the connection, which were used as a factory for the production of bombs along the way. He accused the militants of using civilians as human shields, saying that they recently stored weapons in mosques in other districts. Pakistan’s security forces perform operations against the Pakistani Taliban in Khyber, Bajaur and other parts of the northwest. Pakistan has seen a surge in militant attacks, mostly claimed by Pakistani Taliban, known as Tehrik-E-Taliban Pakistan or TTP, which is associated with the Afghan Taliban. The TTP is a separate group, but has been in power since the return of the Afghan Taliban in 2021. Many TTP leaders and fighters are believed to have found sanctuary in Afghanistan.
