In many districts Bihar, at least 25 people were killed and many others were injured in lightning and hailstorm on Thursday. The chief minister’s office (CMO) said that 18 people died in Nalanda, followed by two in Siwan, one person each in Katihar, Darbhanga, Begusarai, Bhagalpur and Jehanabad. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed sympathy with deaths and announced a grace of Rs 4-4 Lakh to the families of the deceased. According to an official statement issued by the Office of the Chief Minister (CMO), at least 13 people died Wednesday due to lightning in four districts Bihari, Darbhanga, Madhubani and Samastipur. According to the CMO, five people died in Begusarai, four in Darbhanga and three in Madhubani, while one person died in Samastipur. Bihar’s chief minister Nitish Kumar expressed his condolences to death and announced a grace of four lakh calls to the families of the deceased. The official statement released on April 9 said: “Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is deeply saddened by the death of 1 person in Begusarai, 4 in Darbhanga, 3 in Madhubani and 1 person in Samastipur and expressed his deeply compassion on the families involved.” The chief minister said he was in this hour of disasters with the families involved. The chief minister instructed the families of all the deceased to immediately give an ex-gratia amount of four Lakh calls. The Bihar chief minister called on the people to stay indoors and stay safe during the bad weather and follow the guidelines of the Department of Disaster Management. The statement reads: “The chief minister called on the people to be fully careful during the bad weather.
