Tehran, April 27 (IANS). The death toll at a port in a port in the southern hormozgan province Iran increased to 28. The report said the cause of the incident is not yet known. The official Irna news agency said the number of people injured in the explosion and the subsequent fire reached 800, while six people were still missing. The semi-government Tasnim News Agency on Sunday cited hormozagan governor Mohammad Ashori Tajiani, saying that the footage installed from the near-circuit cameras at the scene at 12:05 p.m., near several containers in a port area, which spread again and about 90 seconds later. He also announced a three -day public mourning in the province after a deadly explosion. National Disaster Management Organization spokesman Hosain Jafri told the Semi-Government Fars news agency on Saturday that a container could explode at a container due to chemicals. However, Iranian government spokesman Fatemeh Mohzarani warned by the same day as the officials concerned against the incident before completing their investigation. He said that what has been confirmed so far is the presence of containers in one corner of the harbor, which can have chemicals. With the rejection of the rumors of foreign media about the presence of military shipping in the harbor, Ministry of Defense spokeswoman Reza Talai-Nick said that on the basis of investigation and available evidence there was no imported or executed consignment related to fuel or military use in the explosion area. Iran’s President Masood Porashakian sent Home Affairs Minister Eskander Momeni on Saturday to judge the situation on the spot. -Ians Sch/CBT Share this story Tags
