3 Stalls burnt down in Bogor due to leaking gas cylinder

Bogor – Three shop buildings caught fire in Ciparigi Village, North Bogor District, Bogor City. The fire is believed to have been caused by a leak in a gas cylinder used to make fried food from one of the stalls. “Three buildings burned down, a rice stall, a rice stall and a basic food stall. There were no injuries or deaths,” said Head of Fire and Rescue for the Bogor City Fire Department, M Ade Nugraha, on Monday (20/10/2025). The fire was reported by residents on Sunday 19/10) around 19.15 WIB. The fire is believed to have been caused by a gas leak from a cylinder used to cook fried food. When the incident happened, the witness was cooking fried food,” said Ade. “The fire then got bigger, spread to the basic food stall, then spread to the rice stall next door. The owner tried to put out the fire, but the fire did not stop. Then the residents contacted the fire department,” he added. A total of five fire units and one rescue unit from the Bogor City Fire Department were sent to the scene for treatment. The fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes. “The extinguishing process went smoothly, the fire was successfully extinguished within 30 minutes after treatment. There were no injuries or deaths. Losses are estimated at IDR 300 million,” Ade said. (sol/yang)
