First ‘I know what you did last summer’ footage teases bloody legacy sequel – ryan

We’re Still A Little Over Three Months Away from the Premiere of I know what you did last summerbut fans in attendance at cinemacon last night got their first look at the legacy sequel, which brings back original stars Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt. The clip promises that this new entry in the saga will be just as bloody as the 1997 film, which featured a hook-wielding serial killer hell-bent on revenge.

The footage-which has yet to make its way online-Opens with a couple (Madelyn Cline and Joshua orpin) Enjoying a night Alone, with Cline’s Character Taking a Bubble Bath Whilst Wearing Some Noise-Canceling Headphones. Can you guess what happens next? That’s right, our friend with the hook shows up to pierce the quiet night with mayhem, going after orpin’s character while his spouse sites in the tub oblivious to the carnage thanks to her headphones. She later asks, “Do you think this is some child of f – ed up karma for what we did … or someone saw what happened?”

Why the author of this 1997 thriller hated the movie adaptation

Despite Being a slasher staple, I know what you did last summary attracted the ire of author lois duncan, who wrote the novel was based upon.

Or course someone saw what happened. We wouldn’t have a sequel if they didnn’t. Later Still, the audience in attendance cheered when Prinze Jr.’s ray bronze showed up to proclaim, “This isnt the first time there’s bone violence like this in Southport.” The cheers got even louder when Hewitt’s Julie James appeared to ask, “I just have one question: What did you do last summer?”

What is ‘I know what you did last summer’ about?

Directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who also penned the script with Sam Lansky, I know what you did last summer Sounds like a carbon copy of the first movie, with a few twists thrown in for good measure to keep things fresh. It focuses on five friends who inadvertently cause a deadly car accident, and make a pact to cover up their involvement in IT. A year later, their past comes back to haunt them, and they are forced to confront a horrifying truth: someone knows what they did last summary. As the group is stalked by a deadly killer, they discover the same scenario has happened before, so they turn to two survivors of the Southport massacre of 1997 for help.

In an interview on the scale talk podcast with David Miniatures earlier this year, Prinze Jr. ghosts about his and hewitt’s involvement in the legacy sequel, saying that while they are “not the leads of the movie,” they do play a pivotal role in pushing the plot forward. “(Kaytin Robinson) just took such good care of love’s character, Julie James, and my character, Ray Bronson,” He said, adding:

“They are not the leads of the movie by any stretch of the imagination. She made them such a powerful pushing forward of the other cast. It’s not like, ‘Oh, here’s the ray and Julie movie that we deserve.’ That does not even make sense.

While it certainly does not sound like it’s going to add anything new to the horror genre, it’s definitely going to be great to see Prinze Jr. and Hewitt back together again on the big screen, helping a new generation of Southport kids survive the deadly fisherman.
