36 climbers were sentenced to pay 5 times the price for climbing when Mount Gede was closed

Jakarta – A total of 36 Jabodetabek residents have been approved by the Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park Center. The reason is, they were caught illegally climbing in the middle of the climbing lock. As reported by detikJabar, Public Relations of the Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park, Agus Deni, said that during the last 10 days of the implementation of the closure, 36 people were caught by officers climbing Mount Gede. Scroll TO CONTINUE CONTENT “They went up via the Gunung Putri route. The 36 people came from Depok, Jakarta, Sukabumi, Bogor and surrounding areas,” he said on Friday (10/24/2025). According to him, it was discovered that the climbers had not officially registered via the BBTNGGP or Simaksi websites. “So they really can’t wait to get on, that’s why they use illegal routes and don’t register through Simaksi,” he said. He said that illegal climbers were immediately asked to come down and were sanctioned in the form of paying 5 times the official fee. “We also apply social sanctions in the form of making an apology video and uploading it on social media.
