Pakistan, Prime Minister of Shahbaz Sharif, "The Indian Army did an air strike on the night of May 9-10"
Islamabad, May 17 (IANS). After the success of the Indian Army’s Air Strike ‘Operation Sindoor’ after the Pahalgam terror attack, there is an atmosphere of celebration in India. On the other hand, the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif first acknowledged that an air strike was exported to the Indian army on the night of May 9-10 at the Noor Khan air base in Rawalpindi. The Indian army carried out rocket attacks on various Pakistani air base in the air strike. Sharif made this statement during his speech during a great ceremony called “Yom-E-Tashakur” (thank you). During the ceremony held in the prestigious site “The Monument” in Islamabad, the Prime Minister of Pakistan gave a description of the series of developments and said we responded to India afterwards. In his speech, Pakistan Prime Minister accepted India’s claim over the Indian missile attack on the Noor Khan air base. Sharif said: “At about 2:30 pm on the night of 9 and 10 May, the chief of army called me and told me that India attacked us through his ballistic missiles. A missile Noor Khan fell on the air base and a few other missiles fell in other areas.” He said that the Army Chief General Asem Munir asked permission to respond to the air strike through India with full force. After the air strike of India, Pakistan carried out attacks by drones and rocket attacks. The Speech of the Pakistani Prime Minister also emphasized the call to peace talks. He said: “I am very grateful to all the friendly countries that were very helpful in promoting peace and ceasefire in this part of the world.” Sharif thanks Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Iran, Turkey, China, Britain and other countries for reducing the tension between India and Pakistan. He praised US President Donald Trump for intervening in the last time of the crisis. The Pak Prime Minister said I would like to thank President Trump for his leadership, and also for his approach that peace should be restored in South Asia as soon as possible.
