Jakarta – Police raided a same-sex party at a hotel in the Surabaya area. A total of 34 naked men were arrested in raids early this morning. This case was discovered after the Surabaya police received reports from residents who were suspected of suspicious activities at the hotel. After conducting an investigation, officers found strong evidence and immediately conducted a raid. “Wonokromo Police and Surabaya Police Criminal Investigation Unit secured a same-sex party at the hotel,” Chief of Surabaya Police Samapta AKBP Erika Purwana Putra was quoted as saying on Sunday (19/10/2025). During the raid, the police found 34 naked men in the hotel room. They were immediately asked to sit down and were recorded one by one by officers. “From the results of the raid, we arrested 34 people who were in the hotel room. They were suspected of carrying out activities that were not in accordance with decency norms,” AKBP Erika said. The atmosphere at the scene of the raid was captured on video, which showed a number of men bowing their heads as the officers’ cameras focused on them. All participants and event committee were immediately taken to the Surabaya Police Headquarters for questioning. 2. Held in a hotel room. It is known that the party was held in a hotel room in the Surabaya area. Based on the results of the investigation, this activity was attended by dozens of men who came as guests and event organizers. “We took everyone to the Surabaya police for further investigation,” AKBP Erika said. The police are currently investigating who initiated this activity and how the event could take place in a hotel room. Apart from securing the participants, officers also collected a number of pieces of evidence from the spot for further investigation. 3. Organizers investigate A total of 34 people who were arrested are now being intensively investigated at the Surabaya Police Headquarters. Police are investigating their respective roles, including the event organizer who is suspected of being the party committee. “We are still investigating this case. If elements of law violations are found, we will of course follow up according to appropriate procedures,” AKBP Erika said. Inspections are carried out to determine whether the activity violates certain legal provisions and who the responsible party is. 4. The police hope that similar activities will not be repeated. AKBP Erika emphasized that this raid was part of the Surabaya Police’s commitment to maintaining public order and community morals. He appealed to residents to play an active role in reporting suspicious activities in their respective neighbourhoods. “We urge the public to report immediately if they become aware of suspicious and potentially illegal activities. Cooperation between the police and the community is key in creating a safe and civilized environment,” he said.
