PM Modi's visit to Sri Lanka, meet Tamil community leaders
Colombo, April 5, (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Tamil community leaders in Sri Lanka on Saturday. He said that many projects and initiatives launched during his visit will contribute to the progress of the community. Premier Modi wrote on X, “It is always a matter of happiness to meet the leaders of the Tamil community of Sri Lanka. Spected Tamil leaders Thiru R. Our special partnership is supported above the party line in Sri Lanka. Our cooperation and strong development partnership are directed by the wheels of our two countries.” This is the fourth visit of Premier Modi to Sri Lanka since 2014. While this is his first visit after taking over by President Disanayake. During his first official visit to India in December last year, Sri Lanka president invited him to visit the visit. Sri Lanka considers Disanayake’s state visit to India last December as an ‘important moment’ in its bilateral relations with New -Delhi. Prime Minister Modi is now the first leader offered by President Disanayake. During the visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded Sri Lanka’s highest honor ‘Mitra Vibhushan’.
