James Cameron has previous revealed details about the “Ash people,” stating that they will represent an element that has yet to be explored in the world of Avatar. The fire tribe are “the worst side of na’vi,” Cameron revealed, while also teasing an “unexpected” sequel that delves much deeper into the character.

“This movie goes much deeper on our character and deep emotional consequences for them that threatens their relationships with each other, test their bonds. And that is why I say I think the movie is simultaneously unexpected. Far between the first movie and the second movie, and it will also be what you crave. This point, I believe we care about the journey of these people. ”
