79 crore cocaine seized toys at the airport in Mumbai, two women arrested
Mumbai, October 3 (IANS). The Mumbai unit of the Revenue Intelligence Directorate (DRI) seized 7.95 kg Rs 79.5 crore of two women’s passengers of Bangkok at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Both passengers were arrested in this case. This action was taken based on a secret information that Dri received. After reaching the airport, both women passengers were stopped and their belongings searched intensively. During the investigation, the authorities found a white powdery substance in toy packs. When the team examined this substance with the NDPS field set, it was confirmed that it was cocaine. A great effort to smuggle drug smuggling has been achieved by great success. Officials immediately seized drugs under drugs and psychotropic drugs on 1985 and both accused were arrested and sent to judicial custody. The DRI is now conducting further investigations in this case to expose the major international syndicate behind this smuggling. This action reflects Dri’s commitment to the determination of ‘drug -free India’. At the same time, earlier on September 27, the anti -dewaging cell (ANC) of Mumbai Crime branch arrested 11 drug smugglers while performing great in different areas of the city. In this operation, drugs worth Rs 2 crore 4 lakh were repaired, including 198 grams of Mefedron (MD/Myau Meu), 6,233 kg hemp, 346 grams of heroin and 3.460 intoxicating tablets. This action was done in areas such as Dharavi, Bandra, Bhaiyakhala, Govandi, Goregaon, Malvani, Borivali and Mahim. The operation was jointly performed by Azad Maidan, Bandra, Kandivali, World and Ghatkopar units of ANC.
