Tamil Nadu: Tourism Minister Rajendran has inaugurated extensive bus root services in Salem
Salem, April 6 (IANS). Tourism Minister Tamil Nadu, Rajendran, inaugurated the extensive bus root services of New Bus Stand in Salem District on Sunday. He said it would facilitate the locals. The Minister of Tourism said that the purpose of the government is to meet the transport needs of students, farmers and general public in rural areas. Below, old buses are replaced in a phased way and new bus services are started. The minister said that with these efforts, better and convenient transport service could be provided to the people. The extensive route mainly contains two new services. Among them, the service of Salem Suburban Bus Stand to Pachmalai has now been expanded from Chengtatupatti and Upapiliapuram and the service of Salem City Bus Stand to Tholamapatti was expanded via Omalur to Vanatamapatti. Minister Rajendran said that more new bus route services will soon be started according to the public’s demand. For this, the transport department was instructed to take the necessary steps. He also told that the purpose of these changes is to benefit the passengers in rural areas. During this time, the people present at the venue thanked the government. People said that a long time was being claimed. Now it will facilitate the transport facility. During this time, the minister also met the people and gave the assurance to make their other demands. The event was attended by Salem West Mla Arul, Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, managing director Joseph Dies, general manager Gopalakrishnan, Salem West District Revenue Officer Manoharan, other officials of the Department of Transport, Trade Union representative and a large number of community citizens.
