Cat Decides To Take Down Spider, but There’s a Problem – ryan

The owner of a tabby cat named Milo shared footage of the feline’s hilarious attempts at taking down a spider that have left internet users in stitches.

In the viral TikTok video, Milo can be seen climbing up to the curtain rail after noticing a spider on the roof, stretching his paws all the way up trying to get to it. However, as he tries his best to reach the tiny intruder, he loses his grip and falls over.

“POV: your cat sees a spider” reads layover text in the clip shared in March under the username @milo_the_menace_. The caption says: “He lives for the hunt.”

Most cat owners can attest to their feline’s passion for chasing and hunting anything that moves. But what makes them so keen to hunt when they don’t really need to?

A Catster articlemedically reviewed by Dr. Luqman Javed, explains that even though domestic cats don’t need to provide for themselves, their natural instincts still fuel their hunting behavior.

Hunting keeps them content and satisfied, and it’s also the reason why cats were domesticated in the first place, to keep settlements free from vermin.

While this behavior is completely normal, cats that hunt are at higher risk of catching diseases and parasites from their prey, so it’s important to keep their vaccinations always up to date, and have them checked by the vet regularly.

Vet Help Direct says that unless your cat is kept indoors with no access to potential prey, you cannot really stop them from hunting. But you can decrease their desire by keeping them indoors at dusk and dawn, when prey is more active, and playing with toys that mimic hunting behavior, to use up their energy for the day.

The video quickly went viral on social media and it has so far received over 218,400 views and 12,900 likes on the platform.

One user, TheShad0w01, commented: “Not our cat. He likes to hunt only outside (birds, mice) and then bring them inside, most of the time they are still alive and he just drops them somewhere and then leaves us to deal with it.

Jelinx13 said: “I wish my cat showed such determination.”

“Average tabby cat behavior, my cat is a void with tabby genes,” Kathryn added.
