Peradi holds seminar for members, invisible to foreign advocates

Jakarta – The National Leadership Council of the Indonesian Advocates Association (DPN Peradi) held an international seminar base with the theme ‘understanding of enterprise law, mergers, acquisition of cross -state and also the rights of passenger claims and responsibilities of airline (air law and space)’, at the Peradi Tower. DPN Peradi with the implementation of activities from the fields of education, recommendations, oversight of foreign advocates, and professional specialist education again offer foreign advocates to share their knowledge to the proponents of Peradi members, as well as academics, students and the general public. The seminar was opened by the deputy chairman who served as a daily chairman of the Peradi DPN, R. Dwiyanto Prihartono in Peradi Tower, Jakarta, Friday (5/23). This seminar also offers an understanding of participants regarding the justice system, not only European continental systems, but also the common law system. “We must also master it, not only the European continental system, but also the common law systems, how to apply it in Indonesia,” he said. In the session held by Jason Remimgton Bonin, the Montreal Convention investigated in 1999 on the basis of international agreements on legal responsibilities in international air transport. In the Convention, the rules related to compensation for victims, injuries and deaths that occur during flight, as well as damage or loss of luggage and cargo. “Many things are regulated in the Montreal Convention ratified by Indonesia, including the rights of Pessenger in finding commercial delay aircraft or freight delivery problems,” Jason said. He explained that international countries have adopted or ratified the Montreal Convention. “Indonesia has also entered the Montreal Flight Law Convention,” he said. He explained that every country taken up must ratify the convention in the law of his country. “The adoption of the Montreal of this convention can strengthen our space in practice,” Jason concluded.
