Tehri, May 24 (IANS). The first of the 51 shaktipeets located on the Surkut Mountain in the Tehri district of Uttarakhand is the first Shaktipeeth where the Mata Sati forehead is cut off, known as Surkanda Shaktipeeth. This shactypeeth is devoted to the mother cali form of the goddess Durga. Not only that, along with Kalabhairava in the courtyard of this shaktipeeth, the temples of Lord Shiva and Hanumanji are also established in this temple complex. There is also the Ganges stream in the temple, which is considered very sacred. This shaktipeeth also shows hills of Dhamas such as Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamunotri, etc. Surkanda Devi Temple is the first Shakti Panh located at an altitude of 9.995 feet above sea level, one of the 51 shaktipeeths. It is located in the Tehri district of Uttarakhand. This temple is devoted to the goddess Durga and the idol of the goddess Kali is installed here. It is believed that the head of the goddess Sati fell here, so earlier it was called Sirakanda, which later became known as Surkanda Devi Temple. Mahant Mahavir Lekhwar of Surkanda Mata Shakti Panh said it was believed that when King Daksha arranged a Yagna in Kankhal, he invited all the gods into it, but did not invite Lord Shiva. Sati, the daughter of King Daksha and wife of Lord Shiva, sought permission from Shiva to go to the Yagna. Sati went to the Yagna, even after Shiva refused. Sati heard the derogatory things towards Lord Shiva and jumped into the Yajna Kund. When that happened, Shiva got angry and took Sati’s body and revolved around the Himalayas. Lord Vishnu cut Sati’s body of Sudarshan chakra to calm the anger of Shiva. Sati’s head falls on the Surkut mountain, which later became known as Siddhapeth Surkanda. Another public belief associated with this Siddhapeeth is that this temple was founded centuries ago by Anandu of Anand Singh Joothari. At the time, the people from the mountain to Dehradun ‘crazy’ came heavy luggage on the back that they found a helpless old lady on their way, he said it took me with me too, but no one agreed. Anand Singh was of a rooted kindness, he placed the helpless old lady on his back and walked forward with courage. After leaving far away, when he stayed for some time for a little rest, the old woman became impatient. When he went home, Anand Singh Raddhari was seen as a goddess by the old woman in the dream and said that you were digging in the highest rand, and the excavation revealed the self -proclaimed divine rock in that place, established by the village of Jothar. The mother said that the rooted dynasty would be called my maiti. Since then, the rooted people have been serving the temple in the form of the goddess Maiti. Pujaldi is a priest of the Brahmin mother of the Lekhwar cabinets of the town. They do the work to worship the mother since the earliest time, and the people of Malkot are called the mother’s uncle of the goddess. Sri Surkanda Temple is the only Siddhpeeth where Ganga Dussehra festival is celebrated. Although dedicated the mother sees throughout the year and gets virtuous fruit, but on the occasion of Ganga Dussehra and Navratri, the special meaning of the mother’s Darshan was told. The visit to the mother destroys sins and wishes are fulfilled. Fans Divya Rastogi said that trolleys were arranged for the elderly and the disabled to ensure that the dedicated had no problems. It is believed that every wish that is sought here with true heart is fulfilled. Indra Kumar Khatri, a dedicated from Rajasthan Bikaner, wished for the happiness, peace and good health of the family, said it was one of the 51 ShaktipetHs or Sati Mata. Akshay Chakija, who came from Mumbai, said that this temple is very recognized. He came here for the second time. -Ians ash/ak
