Nalanda University is preparing to fly

On Wednesday (May 21, 2025), prominent economist Sachin Chaturvedi, who took over as Vice -Chancellor of Nalanda University in Bihar, told The Hindu that the university would enroll about 900 students in the new academic session. Pro. Chaturvedi said the university is in a technical mode, he said that 99% of construction work was completed. Pro. Chaturvedi said that the university working under the Foreign Ministry is expanding international relations by attracting students and teachers from all over the world. He said: “Nalanda will give a message of peace and promote more intensive research to connect the Indian philosophy to the contemporary world,” he said that the institute will bring together researchers, policymakers and people of diplomatic community. Pro. Chaturvedi is also the Director General of Think Tank Research and Information System for Developing Country (RIS). With the collapse of ‘Washington Consciousness’, Global South needs a new philosophy of development of the rich heritage of knowledge. He said: “We must reconsider the knowledge and my priority must bring it back to the global south with new philosophy of development.” Share this story -tags
