Enhancing tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Cuban in Japan – ryan

Japan is a traditional major market for Vietnam.

Mr. Najwin Troung Khanah welcomed the delegation of the city of Kobe to work with the National Tourism Administration in Vietnam, and expressed his great appreciation for programs aimed at promoting tourism and announcing it in Japan in general and the city of Kobe in particular, especially the initiatives aimed at exploiting the cross flights linking Japan to Vietnam.

Director Najwin Trong Khan said that Japan is a major traditional market for Vietnam, with diversified visitors and average residence (about 6.2 days) and very high spending compared to the general level of Asian visitors; Vietnam is also an important tourist market for Japan, as the number of Vietnamese tourists has grown to Japan strongly after the epidemic, with a tendency to shop and spend a lot.

In 2023, the number of Japanese visitors to Vietnam will see a 62 % recovery compared to what it was before the pandemic (to reach 589,522 expatriates); The number of Vietnamese visitors to Japan will increase by 16 % (to reach 573,876 expatriates). In 2024, the number of Japanese visitors will reach Vietnam in the first ten months of the year to 584,908 expatriates, an increase of 25 % compared to the same period in 2023.

Regarding bilateral cooperation, the Tourism Cooperation Committee between Vietnam and Japan was established in 2005, and it meets every two years alternating between the two countries. The tenth meeting of the Committee in Japan is expected to be held in 2025. Vietnam and Japan signed a joint declaration on tourism cooperation in 2005; And a memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation between the Vietnamese National Administration for Tourism and the Japanese Tourism Authority (JNTO) in 2017. The Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism and the Vietnamese National Tourism Department signed a number of cooperation documents in the field of tourism with localities in Japan (Yamanashi Province in 2017, Hokkaido Province in 2020, and the two provinces of Wakayama and Kanagawa in 2023). The Institute for Tourism Development Research (affiliated with the Vietnamese National Tourism Administration) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Japanese Institute for Transport and Tourism Research in 2023.

Regarding cooperation and promotion activities, Vietnamese tourism organized programs to introduce Vietnamese tourism in many major cities in Japan; She coordinated to participate in the annual Vietnam Cultural Cultural Festival in Tokyo and Kanagawa every year; The Famtrip Welt from Japan welcomed Vietnam to survey tourism. JNTO Office regularly organizes tourism promotion activities in Vietnam. Jnto participates in the events organized by Vietnam: A symposium on attracting international tourists to Vietnam (2019); High -level Policy Forum in ITE (2022). The Vietnamese National Administration of Tourism and the JNTO office in Vietnam coordinated to organize a symposium on solutions to enhance the exchange of Vietnamese and Japanese tourists in Hanoi (2018), a symposium on cooperation in the field of tourism promotion between Vietnam and Japan in Da Nang (2020), and a symposium on crowds of tourists in tourist centers and the development of sub -destinations in Hanoi (2023).

In May 2023, the Japanese government chose Vietnam and included it in a list of 24 countries as safe and attractive tourist destinations, encouraging travel companies to exploit Vietnam and send tourists to it.

Mr. Najwin Trong Khan has suggested that the Cuban Cuban Office cooperate with the Japanese National Tourism Authority (JNTO) to enhance the air link between Kobe and the main cities in Vietnam, and to actively participate in international exhibitions organized by Vietnam. He also suggested that the Japanese government set a policy of more open visas for Vietnamese tourists. The director also suggested that the two sides support each other in organizing tourism promotion activities in Vietnam and Cuban. Meanwhile, Director Naguin Trong Khan agreed to sign the leaders of the two sides to sign a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the city of Kobe and the National Tourism Administration in Vietnam in March 2025 on the occasion of the visit of a Cuban delegation to Vietnam.

On this occasion, Director Najwin Tronong called the Cuban City Government to attend the major international tourist exhibitions in Vietnam, including: Vitonam International Tourism Exhibition (VitM) (which will be held from 10 to 13 April 2025), and the Ho Chi International Tourism Exhibition (ITE-HCMC), which will be held in September 2025. Director Najwin Tong Khan hopes that the city of Kobe shares its experience in its experience in Management, promotion and development of products that are city strengths such as marine tourism, delicious tourism, festivals and shopping tourism.

The desire to open flights linking Kobe to the major cities in Vietnam

At the meeting, Mr. Sawa Husashi, Deputy Director of the Urban Affairs Department in the city of Cuban said: With an area of ​​557 Kilometer Kobe is a Japanese national city located in the Kansai region on the island of Honcho, and it is one of the main sea ports in Japan (alongside Yokohama, Osaka, Nagoya, Foca and Tokyo). Kobe is currently located in the economic, tourism and cultural triangle of the Kansay region: Osaka – Kobe – Kyoto.

The city of Kobe is characterized by many beautiful gardens and western architecture. The city has picturesque landscapes throughout the seasons of the year, with diversity in the types of tourism. Among its most prominent products are Cuban beef, which is undergoing very accurate treatment and production, and Onsen bathroom services famous for hot mineral water. Kobe is also the largest wine producer in the country, as it includes the hot springs, the Chinese Nankensmachi neighborhood, the Eikota Jinga shrine, and the Cuban port tower, …

Sawa Hesashi, Deputy Director of the Cuban Cuban Office, stated that there are currently about 8,000 Vietnamese who live, work and study in Kobe, Japan. According to the estimated data of the Cuban Cuban Office, Kobe received in 2023 about a million international visitors, including about 23,000 tourists from Vietnam. The number of international visitors who stayed in Kobe was 615,000, of whom 3,500 tourists from Vietnam (0.6%). Therefore, the city is expected to turn the Cuban airport to an international airport by 2025, with regular flights from Asian countries, including Vietnam.

As planned, the journey will leave from Vietnam to Kobe from the city of Ho Chi, and will land at Da Nang Airport. Kobe plans to run the first three direct flights in March 2025, Summer 2025, and late 2025.

In the future, Kobe Airport will operate fixed international flights starting in 2030, including flights to Vietnam. On this occasion, Mr. Sawa Hesashi hopes that the National Tourism Administration in Vietnam will support the city of Kobe to open flights that connect it to the main cities in Vietnam.
